This Crossway 100 is at the top end of the range, which, besides the plush Gloss paintwork, boasts Suntour NCX-D Lock-out suspension forks to take the brunt of those trecherous ‘short cuts’ you might come across, with 700x40c Maxxis Overdrive Excel trekking tyres providing the harmonious combination of comfort, versatility, and pace.
Merida haven’t skimpted when it comes to gearing either… You’ll find a very unusual 30 speed Shimano Deore gearing system offers support through the toughest of terrains and inclines, offering the pre-emption & versatility you need from an reliable everyday companion. One of the most important components on a bicycle is indeed the brakes, so Merida have included Tektro HD-M275 hydraulic disc brakes that perform consistantly, regardless of conditions.
Finished with an adjustable stem to tailor your riding position, and a very handy 40mm Merida TK suspension seatpost to offer a little cushion to the rear of the bike – again, essential for a long commute in the saddle!
Hydraulic Disc Brakes
All models feature powerful and easy to modulate hydraulic disc brakes. Hydraulic disc brakes offer great stopping power in any weather, are more or less maintenance-free and are not affected by rough or kinked cables.
Adaptability
All models have the ability to add mudguards, making them more versatile, particularly when used as a training or commuting bike. The removable seat stay bridge stays in place to securely hold the rear mudguard or gets removed for a cleaner look and improved mud clearance.
Comfort
All CROSSWAY models are equipped with suspension forks to iron out any surface bumps. Adjustable ahead stems and suspension seat posts are also fitted on most SPEED models, providing extra comfort and an adjustable riding position. The sportier TFS models feature a regular seat post and stem to reduce weight.
Safety First
All CROSSWAY 100 up to XT-EDITION models feature tyres with reflective strips on their sidewalls, improving visibility on the road.
