This caliper is perfect for pairing up with the Shimano 105 Di2 brake lever (sold separately) and offers 10% wider pad clearance than the mechanical 105 option, meaning less brake rub and less noise. It also brings a simpler, maintenance-friendly brake fluid bleeding process. Featuring the Shimano Flat Mount System and with its low-profile design it’s ideal for road bikes.
Shimano has adopted the Ice Technologies piston to realise the cooling technology for consistent performance. Oversized pistons transfer hydraulic power directly to the brake pad, and ceramic material is used to avoid heat transfer for constant stable braking, providing efficient stopping power transfer without loss. This model’s Ice Technologies piston achieves optimised lightweight, high rigidity and heat dissipation.
One Way Bleeding was developed for quick and easy prevention of air in the hydraulic system. Shimano has streamlined the oil route throughout the system to prevent air bubbles from being captured in the system. One way oil routing plus a funnel tool with mineral oil provides an easy and clean bleeding system.
