This hub from Sturmey Archer incorporates a 90mm drum brake.
Drum brakes are efficient – sealed from the mud and wet of the good old British roads – they will work better than than the average rim brake. They will also last longer as they are shielded from the mud and grit that wears normal brake pads down.
